Concealed Handgun License Suspensions

Under govt 411.180, the Department of Public Safety shall give written notice to each concealed handgun license holder of any suspension of that license. If the license holder, after hearing, receives a license suspension for:
(1) The period of suspension will be for 30 days if:
(a) Failing to notify the department of a change of address, name, or status
(b) carrying a concealed hangun of a different category than the license holder is licensed to carry, or
(c) failing to return a previously issued license after the license is modified
(2) The period of suspension will be for the duration of the protective order if:
(a) Commiting an act of family violence and you are the subject of a protection order.
(3) The period of suspension will be for the duration of the protective order if:
Arrested for:
(a) offense involving family violence or
(b) stalking,
* and under a magistrates order for emergency protection
(4) 1 to 3 years
(a) A suspension under (1) -(3) above, if the person has a previous suspension for the same reason.
(5) Until dismissal of charges
(a) Being chargd with the commission of a Class A or B misdemeanor, disorderly conduct, or a felony under an information or indictment
